Welcome home Richard!

Homeless for most of his life, Richard struggled with substance abuse and mental illness. Referred to BHS by collaborative community partners, Broward Partnership for the Homeless’ shelter,  Richard celebrates his years of sobriety. “I finally achieved milestones I never felt that I deserved” said Richard.“Financially stable and gainfully employed, I am moving into my own home”.  Rooming with BHS’ long-time resident, Derrick, Richard will be calling home in Oakland Park.

“Sporting an amazing sense of humor with MANY jokes, Richard is fueled by his passion to make people laugh”, said BHS’ Housing Specialist, Rebekah. “It’s my pleasure to welcome Richard into our affordable housing program” said Rebekah.“And, if you see him around town, please introduce yourself!”
