Local non-profits like Broward Housing Solutions® provide quality, permanent affordable housing opportunities to meet the needs of lower income or homeless people who also have mental illness. It is reported to cost taxpayers $50,000 – $80,000 to care for a chronically homeless person (shelters, hospital care, jail). Yet, the cost to provide permanent housing and wraparound support by Broward Housing Solutions® is a quarter of that.

Currently Broward Housing provides housing to 359 clients and the reported savings to County taxpayers for the reduction in use of public services is 1.2 million dollars! These clients are reintegrating back into society and propelling our economy.
