Broward Housing Solutions® established Home for the Brave with the goal of offering housing stability to veterans. Veterans often need supportive housing due to a combination of factors associated with their military service and the difficulties of reintegrating back into civilian life, including mental health issues, substance abuse, and limited access to resources. Supportive housing provides a stable living environment and facilitates access to essential services that can assist veterans in overcoming these obstacles and reintegrating into the community.

Established on November 11, 2012, Broward Housing Solutions® Home for the Brave Program aims to provide returning veterans with affordable, secure, and permanent housing. The program prioritizes serving veterans with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), including Major Depression Disorder (MDD), Bi-Polar Disorder, and Schizophrenia in addition to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
