Broward Housing Solutions® (BHS®) proudly operates several  housing programs; each falls under one of following referral methods:

Prior Case Management

This referral method applies to following program(s);

Affordable Housing

Home for the Brave

Housing Solutions for Young Adults (Youth Solutions)

To qualify for the above housing programs you must have case management services provided to you by one of following Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) approved community providers; Archways Behavioral Health, Broward County Elderly and Veterans Service, Henderson Behavioral Health Center, or SOS Children’s Village. Once you are receiving case management from one of these four (4) organizations, your case manager will fill out an application form with you to submit to BHS®. You must have steady income and a form of Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI)[1]. Once you are approved, you and your family (if applicable) will be placed on our waiting list for the next available rental housing unit.

This referral method applies to following program(s);

Home for the Brave

Samaritan

To qualify for Samaritan, you must have case management services provided to you by one of following Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) approved community providers; Archways Behavioral Health, Broward County Elderly and Veterans Service, or Henderson Behavioral Health Center. You will also need to be registered as chronically homeless[2] through 2-1-1 Broward.

No Prior Case Management

This referral method applies to following program(s);

Broward II

To qualify for Broward II, you need to be registered as homeless through 2-1-1 Broward. You do not need to have case management services prior to entering this program. A case manager will be assigned to you through Archways Behavioral Health upon entering the program.

This referral method applies to following program(s);

Broward III

To qualify for Broward III, you need to be registered as chronically homeless through 2-1-1 Broward. You do not need to have case management services prior to entering this program. A case manager will be assigned to you through Henderson Behavioral Health Center upon entering the program.

[1] SPMI conditions include but are not limited to Bi-Polar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Major Depression, and Anxiety.

[2] Chronically Homeless is defined by HUD as experiencing 3 or more episodes of homelessness within 4 years, or 1 consecutive year of being homeless.
